Role Summary:
The primary responsibility of this role is to apply adhesives and epoxy to circuit boards, ensuring optimal functionality and dependability of electronic assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and apply a variety of adhesive and epoxy materials to circuit boards in accordance with engineering specifications and industry standards.
- Utilize precision tools and equipment for accurate application, including syringes, dispensers, and automated systems.
- Ensure uniform and consistent application to prevent defects or irregularities.
- Clean and prepare circuit board surfaces to guarantee proper adhesion, including the removal of contaminants and the application of primers as necessary.
- Inspect and confirm that surfaces are free from dust, oils, and other impurities.
- Monitor curing and bonding processes to ensure the correct setting and performance of adhesives and epoxy.
- Adjust application techniques and parameters based on real-time observations and feedback.
- Conduct visual and mechanical inspections of completed circuit boards to verify adhesion quality and integrity.
- Maintain daily records of time worked on specific jobs by scanning in/out of the computer and/or keeping daily timesheets when requested. Perform other record-keeping as required by the department.
- Ensure compliance with Virtex's Quality Management System and other regulatory and statutory requirements as mandated by the customer.
- Take responsibility for continuous on-the-job training by actively participating in training sessions conducted by designated Virtex employees and/or any external service.
- Actively engage in quality initiatives and support the Virtex Quality Policy through accountable actions.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to safety policies and procedures, reporting any safety concerns, and participating in scheduled stretch breaks.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or 3-6 months of related work experience.
- Previous experience in applying adhesives and epoxy in a manufacturing or electronic environment is preferred.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Due to ITAR Restrictions, US Citizenship or green card is required.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull between 10 to 45 pounds.
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Must possess good eyesight, with the ability to adjust focus and differentiate between colors.
- Flexibility to work extra hours when needed, including weekends.
