Job Title: System Operations Specialist
Job Description
This role serves as the intermediary between design, engineering, and GIS to construction and maintenance. The purpose is to ensure engineered projects are built safely, accurately, and in the correct order. The individual in this role creates switching directions, updates equipment identification databases, and coordinates preventative maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with line crews, design, and other operations staff to provide safe and reliable electrical service to members.
• Document records in asset databases.
• Create and coordinate switching instructions, clearance tags, and procedures for planned and emergency situations.
• Create and maintain distribution apparatus and equipment records.
• Work closely with Distribution Design and Geographic Information System (GIS) departments to maintain the GIS database.
• Operate enterprise-wide computer applications, such as Geographical Information System, Outage Management, Work Management System, and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
• Coordinate periodic preventative maintenance activities to assure that critical equipment is maintained and in service when needed.
