Role Summary
The Consumer Loan Officer Trainee (CLOT) is a vital entry-level position focused on delivering exceptional customer service and assisting in the loan application process. This role is integral to our Credit Officer development initiative, allowing you to gain hands-on experience in the consumer lending field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver customer service through various channels, addressing inquiries and resolving issues effectively.
- Engage in collections for overdue loans, including negotiating payment plans.
- Promote loan products by encouraging customers to apply and presenting optional ancillary services when applicable.
- Process consumer loan applications, ensuring accurate data entry and understanding of loan purposes and collateral.
- Conduct thorough interviews with applicants to gather necessary information and verify employment and credit history.
- Analyze and assess credit applications, providing recommendations to senior loan officers regarding approvals or counteroffers.
- Contribute to team projects and assist in meeting the overall objectives of Reliable Credit Association.
Qualifications:
- A college degree is preferred; however, candidates with 2+ years of relevant experience may be considered.
- Strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Ability to engage with a diverse clientele and adapt to various customer needs.
- Willingness to learn and apply industry regulations and compliance standards.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) are advantageous.
