About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Services Representative to join our team at Suffolk Credit Union. As a key member of our Member Services team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional member experiences and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Member Service: Deliver outstanding service to current and prospective members, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of all Credit Union products and services, including retail banking, consumer lending, commercial lending, mortgage lending, and wealth management.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with members, identifying and seizing opportunities to deepen relationships and drive referrals.
  • Transaction Processing: Process transactions accurately and efficiently, maintaining member confidentiality and adhering to Credit Union policies and procedures.
  • Research and Outreach: Proactively research and outreach to members to identify sales and service opportunities, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Account Maintenance: Complete new member onboarding activities, maintain operator drawers, and reconcile drawers on a daily basis.
  • Lending Responsibilities: Accept and process consumer lending loan applications, gather loan documentation, and submit mortgage referrals when identified.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Remain current on all Credit Union products, services, policies, and procedures, as well as State and Federal Regulations.
  • Travel and Collaboration: Travel to all branch locations as needed, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve department and Credit Union goals.
  • Professional Development: Attend and participate in Call Nights, Credit Union Days, and Community Events, assisting with Business Development efforts and providing Notary services to members.
Requirements
  • Education: High diploma or equivalency certification.
  • Experience: Two (2) years of customer service, preferably in a banking environment, with supervisory experience and cash handling preferred.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Notary license required within three (3) months of hire, NMLS-ID (Mortgage Loan Originator) required and will be provided at time of hire if not already acquired.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to express oneself clearly and articulately, demonstrated skill in customer service and communication, ability to exercise tact and responsibility with handling confidential information, and ability to work with direct supervision of daily activities.
