Job Summary

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nutrition Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary care team, you will provide clinical nutrition consultation and coordination with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality clinical nutrition services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and develop personalized nutrition care plans for pediatric patients.
  • Provide nutrition counseling and education to patients and their families on disease-specific diets and formulas.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless coordination of care and effective communication.
  • Develop and implement nutritional care plans based on diet history, labs, medications, and medical history.
  • Document nutritional assessments and recommendations in the electronic medical record system.
  • Participate in team rounds and provide recommendations for enteral feeding and parenteral nutrition orders as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical nutrition research and best practices to ensure evidence-based care.
  • Serve as a nutrition resource to the medical team, hospital staff, and community.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related field from a U.S. regionally accredited university or college.
  • Course work accredited or approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).
  • Completed continuing professional educational requirements to maintain registration and licensure.
  • Master's degree in Nutrition or related field preferred.
  • Hospital experience preferred; at least 2 years pediatric experience preferred.
  • RD certificate within 90 days of hire by passing the national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).
  • Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist status through the state of Florida within 6 months of hire.
  • Additional specialty certification preferred (CDE, CNSC, and/or CSP).
