Job Summary

The Clinical Educator - Point of Care serves as the point of care or designated unit educator for new employee orientation and facilitates annual team member development through formal and informal in-services and training programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supports the development of bedside clinical team members and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence through the delivery of evidence-based nursing practice.
  • Collaborates with the clinical education team to provide computer orientation and retraining as deemed necessary.
  • Facilitates quality reports to assure proper documentation and follow-through are being met.
  • Ensures adherence to hospital or department policies, and nursing procedures, standards, and practices.
  • Functions to assure nursing practices are aligned systemically with evidence-based practice and regulatory compliance.
  • Participates in planning and implementing initiatives aimed at improving clinical quality outcomes and achieving departmental annual goals.
  • Drives improvements in quality and service with a focus on improvement of departmental retention rates, HCAHPS scores, and Hospital-Acquired Condition rates.
  • Serves as the clinical subject matter expert and internal consultant to leadership assuring that professional standards of practice in the clinical area are integrated into decision-making, operations, and practice.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A strong understanding of evidence-based practice and regulatory compliance is essential.
