Job Overview

The Certified Clinical Assistant role is essential in supporting healthcare providers with a variety of medical tasks while ensuring high standards of patient care. This position involves the collection, administration, and accurate processing of laboratory tests, immunizations, in-house clinical assessments, and general administrative responsibilities. Adherence to standard operating procedures is crucial, ensuring that policies and practices are implemented consistently and fairly while prioritizing patient care excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist healthcare providers during patient consultations and procedures.
  • Gather patient medical history and the purpose of visits, effectively communicating this information to the healthcare provider.
  • Collect and process laboratory samples, including blood, urine, stool, and cultures, ensuring accuracy in patient identification and documentation.
  • Conduct drug screenings, including urine and hair tests.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines during sample collection.
  • Perform in-house clinical procedures such as EKGs, audiometry, pulmonary function tests, A1c, and urinalysis.
  • Measure and record vital signs, including height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation.
  • Administer vaccinations as per directives and manufacturer guidelines, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Handle general administrative tasks that accompany clinical duties and provide assistance throughout the facility as needed.
  • Conduct follow-up calls with patients three days post-visit.
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn and conduct training sessions related to job responsibilities.
  • Assist with the clinic's opening and closing procedures.
  • Perform administrative duties such as filing, answering phone calls, welcoming patients, maintaining office cleanliness, and other assigned daily tasks.
  • Address patient concerns or complaints promptly and effectively, escalating issues to management when necessary.
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings and one-on-one meetings with management.
  • Share updates and new trends relevant to job responsibilities with colleagues and management.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, safety, and healthcare protocols within the scope of responsibilities.
  • Identify and propose ideas for process improvements.
  • Complete any additional tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain an approachable demeanor with both administrative and clinical staff.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time role supporting the organization's various locations. Typical working hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays, and may require flexibility based on business and patient needs.

Travel Requirements

Travel may be required to support different locations within the organization, primarily for educational or business purposes as necessary.

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant and/or Phlebotomy.
