Position Overview:


Under the guidance of the Imaging Services Director and Chief of Diagnostic Imaging, the Senior Radiologic Technologist is responsible for executing radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures that aid healthcare professionals in identifying medical conditions and injuries.

This role involves operating radiographic machinery to generate high-quality images of the human body. The technologist will perform technical duties to guarantee optimal diagnostic quality while ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conducts both specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures.
2. Demonstrates professionalism and empathy by explaining imaging processes to patients, alleviating their concerns, and securing their cooperation.
3. Prepares and positions patients effectively for imaging procedures.
4. Adjusts immobilization devices to capture the best possible views of the designated body area as requested by the physician.
5. Determines appropriate exposure factors based on patient characteristics such as height, weight, and the specific body part being examined.
6. Positions imaging equipment accurately to ensure high-quality results.
7. Operates mobile radiologic equipment in various settings, including operating rooms and emergency situations.

8. Assists radiologists and other qualified medical professionals in conducting fluoroscopic and specialized x-ray examinations.

9. Prepares images for review by radiologists or referring physicians.
10. Processes and evaluates images for proper identification and quality assurance.
11. Performs routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on radiologic equipment, coordinating repairs as necessary.
12. Implements radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure to patients and staff. Maintains accurate records, logs, and reports of imaging activities.
13. Provides orientation and training for new hires and students.
14. Assumes additional responsibilities in the absence of the Supervising Radiology Technologist.
15. Performs other related duties as required.

Supervisory Role:
This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
