Kaiser Permanente is in search of a Senior Radiology Technologist to join our dedicated team.

Position Overview

The Senior Radiology Technologist plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services. Under the supervision of the Imaging Services Director and Chief of Diagnostic Imaging, this position is responsible for conducting a variety of radiographic procedures to aid in the diagnosis of medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts specialized and routine diagnostic imaging procedures with precision.
  • Utilizes excellent interpersonal skills to explain procedures to patients, alleviating their concerns and ensuring cooperation.
  • Prepares and positions patients effectively for imaging procedures.
  • Adjusts immobilization devices to capture optimal images as per physician requests.
  • Determines appropriate exposure factors based on patient specifics and imaging requirements.
  • Operates imaging equipment to produce high-quality images.
  • Utilizes mobile radiologic equipment in various settings, including operating and emergency rooms.
  • Assists radiologists and qualified physicians during fluoroscopic and specialized x-ray examinations.
  • Prepares images for review by radiologists or requesting physicians.
  • Processes images, ensuring proper identification and quality control.
  • Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on radiologic equipment, coordinating repairs as necessary.
  • Adheres to radiation protection protocols to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
  • Maintains accurate records and logs of work performed.
  • Trains new staff and students as needed.
  • Fulfills additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:Basic Requirements:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of continuous experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid certifications including Radiologic Technologist and Fluoroscopy Certificates (California).
  • Basic Life Support certification.
Additional Requirements:
  • California Mammography Certificate (if applicable).
  • Ability to perform general diagnostic and fluoroscopic duties across all age groups.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients and team members.
  • Willingness to work within a collaborative environment.
