We are currently seeking a skilled Senior Radiologic Technologist specializing in Mammography. This role offers a contract opportunity with potential for extension. The position requires expertise in diagnostic imaging and is integral to our healthcare team.

Job Overview:

Compensation: $90 - $100/hour. Employee benefits include health insurance (medical, dental, vision), a 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave, contingent on work location.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conducts both specialized and routine diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and empathy by explaining procedures to patients, alleviating their concerns, and ensuring cooperation.
  • Prepares and positions patients effectively for imaging procedures.
  • Adjusts immobilization devices to capture optimal images of the specified body area as requested by the physician.
  • Operates imaging equipment, setting exposure parameters to produce high-quality images.
  • Utilizes mobile radiologic equipment in various settings, including operating rooms and emergency departments.
  • Assists radiologists and qualified physicians in fluoroscopic and specialized x-ray examinations.
  • Prepares images for review by radiologists or requesting physicians.
  • Processes images, ensuring proper identification and quality control.
  • Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on radiologic equipment, coordinating repairs as necessary.
  • Implements radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
  • Maintains accurate records, logs, and reports of work performed.
  • Trains new hires and students, providing guidance and support.
  • Undertakes additional related duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a specialty area (e.g., IR, CT, Mammography, or Quality Management).
  • At least 1 year of experience in a specialty with certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in that area.
  • Possession of a California Fluoroscopy Permit and California Venipuncture Certificate.
  • California Mammography Certificate, if applicable.
  • Valid California Radiologic Technologist License (CRT) and certifications in BLS, ACLS, NALS, and PALS.
