Whole Foods Market - Stock Management Lead
This role involves assisting in the scheduling and oversight of the Stock Crew while ensuring the smooth operational flow of the grocery department. The supervisor is responsible for creating and maintaining attractive product displays. The position supports the Team Leader and Associate Team Leaders to facilitate efficient team operations. All roles at Whole Foods Market require a commitment to a positive company image through courteous, friendly, and efficient service to both customers and Team Members. Compliance with Standard Operating Procedures is essential, and Team Members should be prepared to perform duties inherent to other roles as needed. Furthermore, adherence to health and safety regulations, including Food Safety and departmental responsibilities, is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Effectively supervises and assigns tasks according to departmental needs.
- Collaborates with leadership to address team concerns or issues.
- Responds promptly to customer and Team Member inquiries and needs.
- Engages in sorting and stocking activities for a significant portion of the scheduled shift.
- Aids in training initiatives as directed by Team Leaders using established training materials.
- Cultivates a positive work environment that enhances Team Member morale.
- Completes necessary inventory management tasks, including spoilage tracking and temperature monitoring.
- Assists in monitoring the productivity of the stocking crew.
- Responsible for opening and closing the department in accordance with established protocols.
- Strives to achieve the highest standards of retail execution.
- Promotes a culture of teamwork, respect, and high morale among Team Members.
- Maintains awareness of customer needs and directs Team Members accordingly to ensure satisfaction.
- Selects, trains, and develops Team Members to foster a high-performance team.
- Conducts thorough performance evaluations in a timely manner.
- Consistently communicates and exemplifies the vision and goals of Whole Foods Market.
Required Skills

Experience
- Minimum of 12 months of retail experience.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand or walk for 6-8 hours during a workday.
- Requires hand use for tasks such as grasping and manipulation.
- Involves bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals approved by the FDA.
- Must be able to work in varying temperatures, including freezing and refrigerated environments.
- Ability to work in both wet and dry conditions.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Competence in using tools and equipment, including knives and pallet jacks.
- May require the use of ladders.
