Job Description

Ukrop's Homestyle Foods is seeking a skilled Inventory and Receiving Specialist to join our team at our Bakery (Freezer) location. This is a 1st shift position requiring weekend work as assigned, with a schedule of 5am - 1:30pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain positive relationships with Logistics Transportation Departments and departments throughout the plant.
  • Ensure high sanitation standards and follow a daily cleaning schedule.
  • Operate forklift and pallet jack or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods.
  • Meet departure time of transportation, facilitating products throughout the kitchen and Bakery to appropriate departments.
  • Ensure raw materials (including packaging materials) are staged and available to the production area and meet food safety and quality standards.
  • Apply internal lot codes to all incoming food and packaging cases.
  • Assist in ensuring that the SQF system is in place and that we follow all aspects of HACCP plan, SSOPs, and GMPs throughout the plant.
  • Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as; manifests, invoices, or orders and verify accuracy.
  • Manage and ensure the accuracy of documents.
  • Operate machinery when necessary.
  • Perform physical activities that require considerable lifting, bending, and handling of materials.
  • Report all food safety issues to an immediate supervisor.

Requirements:

  • High School education or equivalent
  • Forklift/ pallet jack experience is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of previous Inventory/Receiving experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of safe storing and handling procedures of various foods and chemicals
  • The ability to arrange things in a certain pattern.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with supervisor and coworkers; and follow safety and chemical guidelines.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules as needed for production and/or holidays.
