Role Summary:
The Inventory and Receiving Specialist is crucial for the seamless operation of Ukrop's Homestyle Foods. Responsibilities include managing the shipping and receiving processes, organizing stock, and ensuring products are distributed efficiently throughout the facility. This role may also involve operating equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks while adhering to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster effective communication with logistics and transportation teams.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with various departments and delivery personnel.
- Uphold high standards of cleanliness and follow a structured cleaning regimen.
- Utilize forklifts and pallet jacks to handle goods safely.
- Ensure timely movement of products within the facility.
- Prepare raw materials for production, ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards.
- Label incoming food and packaging accurately.
- Support adherence to the SQF system and compliance with HACCP plans, SSOPs, and GMPs.
- Verify shipment contents against documentation for accuracy.
- Maintain precise records and documentation.
- Operate machinery as required.
- Engage in physical tasks that involve lifting and handling materials.
- Report any food safety concerns to a supervisor promptly.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience with forklifts and pallet jacks is preferred.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in inventory or receiving roles is advantageous.
- Understanding of safe handling and storage practices for food and chemicals.
- Ability to organize items systematically.
- Strong communication skills with supervisors and team members, along with adherence to safety guidelines.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules as necessary.
