Key Responsibilities:

As an Aviation Security Specialist, you will be trained for various roles, focusing on compliance with local and federal regulations. Your main duties will include:

  • Reporting any actual or potential security breaches.
  • Maintaining professional communication protocols.
  • Responding to alarms and emergencies, coordinating with airport stakeholders and first responders.
  • Controlling access to secured areas.
  • Verifying identification and access badges for individuals entering restricted zones.
  • Conducting vehicle inspections and managing access in designated areas.
  • Patrolling both airside and landside areas, including parking lots and construction sites.
  • Providing crowd control and engaging with the public in a courteous manner.
  • Documenting incidents and preparing detailed reports.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will be proactive individuals who can maintain situational awareness in a busy airport environment. The position requires:

  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • A valid State Security License.
  • A valid Florida Driver's License.
  • Ability to operate inspection equipment and interpret its signals.
  • Capability to hear and respond to alarms.
  • Physical ability to perform inspections and manage baggage.
  • Proficiency in radio and telephone communication.
  • Proof of legal right to work in the United States.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • A High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Successful completion of training and exams as required.
  • Willingness to participate in drug and alcohol testing.
  • Access to reliable transportation.

Additional Qualifications:

Applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • One year of law enforcement or military experience with honorable discharge.
  • Associate's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Three years of security experience.

Physical and Environmental Considerations:

This role involves working in various environments, including exposure to noise and weather conditions. Candidates must possess adequate visual and auditory abilities and be capable of performing physical tasks as required.
