Key Responsibilities:

As an Aviation Security Specialist, you will be trained for various roles, focusing on compliance with local and federal regulations. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring and reporting any actual or potential security breaches.
  • Maintaining effective communication protocols.
  • Responding to alarms and emergencies, coordinating with airport stakeholders and first responders.
  • Controlling access to secured areas of the airport.
  • Verifying identification and access badges for individuals entering restricted zones.
  • Conducting vehicle inspections and managing access in designated areas.
  • Patrolling both airside and landside areas, including parking lots and construction sites.
  • Providing crowd management and interacting with the public in a professional manner.
  • Documenting incidents and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will be proactive individuals capable of maintaining situational awareness in a fast-paced environment. Requirements include:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possession of a valid State Security License.
  • Valid State of Florida Driver's License.
  • Ability to operate inspection equipment and understand its functions.
  • Physical capability to perform inspections and manage baggage.
  • Proficiency in using communication equipment.
  • Proof of legal right to work in the United States.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks and drug testing.

Experience Requirements:

Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications:

  • One year of law enforcement or military experience.
  • Associate's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Three years of security experience.

Physical and Environmental Conditions:

Work will take place in both indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to various environmental factors. Candidates must be able to meet physical demands, including lifting and standing for extended periods.

Reasoning and Decision-Making Skills:

Successful candidates will demonstrate sound judgment, the ability to follow procedures, and effective prioritization skills.
