Job Summary

This position oversees the daily operations of The Farm kitchen, with a strong focus on safety, profitable food service, and guest satisfaction. The Farm Chef will work closely with the Hospitality F&B Executive Chef to ensure that the staff and kitchen environment meet and exceed the expectations of Vail's brand standards, as well as safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of lead cooks and kitchen personnel, coordinating their assignments to ensure efficient and timely food production.
  • Command a strong safety culture within the team.
  • Manage human resource, financial, and administrative responsibilities for direct reports.
  • Execute menus in conjunction with the Hospitality F&B Executive Chef, training team members on corresponding recipes and overseeing preparation.
  • Monitor food preparation, cooking, and service methods to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Schedule staff accurately based on business forecasts.
  • Produce daily reports and conduct self-audits, holding and documenting daily pre-shift meetings.
  • Order and maintain inventory control of restaurant kitchen products.
  • Conduct monthly kitchen self-audits for adherence to Brand Standards and department of Health regulations.
Requirements
  • High School Degree or Equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of restaurant experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Strong skills in purchasing software, MS Office suite, and POS experience.
  • English proficiency; Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.
  • TIPS certification and Utah Food Handler's Card required within 14 days of employment.
  • A combination of practical experience and education will be considered.
