Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and dependable Maintenance Manager to join our Equinox team. This role is ideal for a candidate looking to make a significant impact within a vibrant and evolving organization.

The primary objective of this position is to oversee the Housekeeping team and manage all activities related to club maintenance, ensuring that the facility consistently meets Equinox's standards for cleanliness and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit, train, supervise, mentor, and assess maintenance personnel.
  • Conduct 30, 60, and 90-day evaluations for all new hires.
  • Provide training for new staff using customized, club-specific cleaning protocols.
  • Perform cleanliness inspections (walk-throughs).
  • Hold daily one-on-one meetings with each shift's Manager on Duty.
  • Ensure adequate inventory of maintenance and locker room supplies.
  • Implement procedures for inclement weather.
  • Oversee deliveries.
  • Maintain a high visibility during peak club hours.
  • Stay informed about key competitors regarding their locations, facilities, and equipment.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget for the Maintenance Department.
  • Carry out additional projects and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Fluency in both English and Spanish.
  • Demonstrated experience in the Housekeeping department of a commercial or fitness environment.
  • Proven ability to recruit, direct, and train staff.
  • Knowledge of maintenance for mechanical, electrical, and fitness equipment.
  • Familiarity with tools and maintenance practices.
  • Experience with janitorial cleaning products and OSHA standards.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Financial and budget management skills.
  • Ability to apply new techniques, ideas, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exhibit honesty and personal integrity.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and diligence.
  • Possess a high sense of urgency regarding all work details.
