Position Overview

The Chief Executive Officer of Early Childhood Education at Wooddale Academy is responsible for the strategic execution of the mission of Wooddale Church within a vibrant, multi-campus Pre-Kindergarten institution dedicated to children and their families. This role is pivotal in promoting healthy emotional, social, intellectual, and physical growth initiatives, ensuring a high-quality, faith-based Pre-K educational experience that inspires students towards resilient faith, knowledge, and character development.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, or related fields.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in Early Childhood Education or child development.
  • High level of proficiency in faith-based Early Childhood Education and Child Development.
  • Preferred valid teaching license in Minnesota.
  • Previous experience supervising staff in an Early Childhood educational setting.
  • Demonstrated organizational management and visionary executive leadership skills.
  • Solid understanding of DHS Licensing, NAEYC, and Parent Aware standards.
  • Commitment to affirming the Statement of Faith and Covenant of Wooddale Church.
  • Active membership in Wooddale Church is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Articulate and implement the vision for the strategic execution of Wooddale Church's mission through the Academy.
  • Provide organizational leadership to the Academy's leadership team.
  • Act as a representative of the Academy at the Pastoral/Ministry-Director level.
  • Set and achieve enrollment and staffing objectives.
  • Position the Academy as a premier provider of Early Childhood Education and faith development.
  • Develop ministry initiatives for Academy families in collaboration with NextGen Ministries, the Family Resource Initiative, and Pastoral Care.
  • Oversee the fulfillment of Academy licensure, curriculum, billing, and policy requirements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of curriculum that reflects the values of Wooddale Academy and Wooddale Church.
  • Collaborate with Academy staff and Wooddale Church to ensure exceptional customer service for Academy families.
  • Ensure effective marketing strategies to attract young families in the surrounding metro area.
  • Oversee the long-term financial sustainability and operational efficiency of the Academy in partnership with the financial team and administrative staff.
  • Foster positive and transparent relationships with Academy leadership and staff.
  • Stay informed on current research and trends in Early Childhood Education and maintain awareness of local preschool programs.
  • Develop partnership initiatives with local faith-based kindergarten and elementary schools.
  • Consult and support parents of enrolled children as needed or requested by Academy teaching staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Relationships

This position reports to the Family & NextGen Pastor and collaborates closely with the CFO to maintain the Academy's fiscal health. The CEO directly oversees the Operations Director, Compliance Director, and Academy Site Directors.

Work Hours & Travel

This role requires availability during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, with potential evening commitments for events. Travel to various campus locations and off-site meetings may be necessary as required.

Physical Requirements

The ability to lift up to 40 pounds, perform repetitive bending, stretching, and stooping, climb stairs, and maintain mobility is essential for ensuring the safety of children, engaging with them on the floor, working outdoors, and performing light cleaning tasks.
