Product Manager, Residential Accessories

Join 1872 Consulting in the Greater Chicago area as a Product Manager, Residential Accessories. This hybrid onsite role requires 3 days of work per week.

Role Summary

This role involves developing, communicating, and implementing product strategy for products within the company's residential business unit. Specifically, managing both the hardware and software specifications of each product.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement product strategy for assigned business unit product category, delivering brand strategy, product category management, integrated marketing planning, and pricing strategies.
  • Drive annual and multi-year operating plans and results for their product category, aligned to our overall business objectives (revenue, gross profit, operating income, quality, delivery, cost, and innovation).
  • Support achievement of full P&L objectives for the assigned product categories, driving profitability, volume growth, and market share, as well as execution of product and services.
  • Own achievement of product category average net selling price and gross margin, recommending and implementing pricing objectives, strategies, and guardrails to extract maximum value on new and existing products.
  • Define and communicate the product category vision in support of the business unit strategy, including maintaining a clear product roadmap aligned to business goals in the short- and long-term.
  • Develop and implement the strategy for their product offering, brand, and channels, partnering with marketing, sales, and customer experience leaders to develop go-to-market strategies to win in targeted customer segments.
  • Serve as a Product Owner, leading the development and owning the implementation and sustaining of end-user connected experiences, including uncovering real-time consumer insights, driving user experience requirements, creating business cases, and winning value propositions.
  • Ensure cross-functional marketing teams have the necessary processes and procedures in place to manage the quality, cost, and delivery of products, identifying areas for improvement, proposing improvements to leadership, and ensuring teams take action when corrections are needed.
  • Develop a clear after-sales and service strategy to ensure customers are cultivated and supported in the long term, with the Customer Experience and Marketing teams, as appropriate.
  • Provide product content guidance and prioritization, integrated marketing planning, and pricing strategies, facilitating and/or leading daily scrum activities, and executing against clearly defined timelines.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in Product Management focusing on Smart Home/IoT products.
  • Experience working on Electromechanical or Consumer Electronics.
  • Able to travel up to 25%.
Nice to Have
  • Master's in Business Administration (MBA).
  • Technical product development experience with overseas OEM/ODM vendors.
