Sandvik is in search of a Finance Operations Leader to oversee the financial department from our North American Headquarters.

This position will be accountable for financial operations across the US and Canada, with support for Mexico as needed.
Role Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, with a CPA being highly desirable, alongside over 10 years of progressive experience in financial management encompassing various aspects of financial operations.

Essential qualities include demonstrated leadership, effective team management, and strong interpersonal skills. A keen analytical mindset, integrity, and meticulous attention to detail are critical. The ability to distill and present complex financial data clearly is vital.

The Finance Operations Leader will manage the financial team at Sandvik North America, overseeing operations in the US and Canada.

Responsibilities include general financial management, budgeting, forecasting, corporate reporting, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Comprehend the objectives and financial needs of business units.
  • Enhance financial support for informed decision-making and process optimization.
  • Promote accountability and ownership within the team.
  • Prepare and manage monthly financial reports, including forecasts and variance analyses.
  • Assist in the development and management of directed financial forecasts.

Analyze historical and current trends in key performance indicators, focusing on revenue, costs, and expenditures.

Develop tools to project financial outcomes based on a thorough examination of operational metrics.
Evaluate cash flow, cost management, and expenses. Collaborate with business leaders to identify and implement improvements.

Conduct economic and industry analyses to recommend strategies addressing trends affecting the business and guide the budgeting and strategic planning processes.

Support ad-hoc reporting and presentations, including business reviews and management discussions.

Present monthly financial results to senior management, emphasizing the understanding of outcomes and underlying causes, along with recommending corrective actions for performance enhancement.

Effectively communicate within a global organization to elucidate results, highlighting opportunities and risks to management.
Perform various reconciliations, manage billings, and review tax codes.
Transfer payroll distribution entries to the general ledger as required.
Accumulate data for sales/use tax returns and other external information requests.
Maintain the fixed assets accounting system.

Accounts Payable:
Oversee accounts payable processes using accounting software and other tools.
Collaborate with management to establish realistic operational goals and implement supporting work plans.
Perform related tasks as assigned by management.
Manage accounts payable for various entities and vendors.
Analyze workflow processes and establish relationships with vendors.
Ensure timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices while adhering to departmental protocols.
Process invoices for payment.
