Job Responsibilities

The primary role of the Rehabilitation Support Specialist is to assist in managing the rehabilitation department and support the therapy team in delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Scheduling patient evaluations based on physician orders and assisting in obtaining necessary documentation.
  • Collaborating with nursing and admissions teams to assess the status of incoming patients for therapy evaluations.
  • Coordinating treatment schedules to ensure timely and effective patient-centered care.
  • Understanding insurance contracts related to patient care plans.
  • Monitoring patient schedules to ensure compliance with rehabilitation time requirements.
  • Maximizing productivity and efficiency within the rehabilitation team.
  • Participating in departmental meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Managing equipment and supplies, ensuring compliance with clinical documentation and quality assurance standards.
  • Maintaining effective communication with facility personnel to ensure satisfaction with care delivery.
  • Performing clerical tasks such as filing, record management, and answering phones.
  • Fostering positive relationships with coworkers and collaborating with various departments.
  • Adhering to established confidentiality standards and safety protocols.
  • Completing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Compliance with all regulatory agency requirements.

Experience:

  • Preferred experience in a healthcare setting.
  • General office experience is advantageous.
  • Understanding of resident rights and professionalism in conduct.
