Job Overview

The primary responsibility of the Rehabilitation Support Specialist is to assist the Director of Rehabilitation in overseeing the rehab department at designated facilities. This role also involves supporting therapy staff in delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule patient evaluations based on physician orders and assist in obtaining necessary documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with nursing and admissions teams to assess the status of new and incoming patients for therapy evaluations.
  • Coordinate treatment schedules to ensure timely and effective patient-centered care.
  • Understand insurance contracts as they relate to patient care plans.
  • Monitor patient schedules for compliance with time requirements and implement strategies to manage variances.
  • Optimize schedules for maximum productivity and efficiency.
  • Attend in-service and facility meetings as required.
  • Manage departmental tasks including equipment and supply oversight, documentation compliance, and staffing management.
  • Communicate effectively with facility personnel to ensure satisfaction with care delivery.
  • Provide clerical support including filing, record management, and phone handling.
  • Maintain positive relationships with coworkers and collaborate with various departments.
  • Adhere to established confidentiality standards.
  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment in compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • In good standing with relevant regulatory agencies.
Experience:
  • Preferred experience in a healthcare setting.
  • General office experience is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of resident rights is essential.
  • Professional demeanor in all interactions.
