About the Healthcare Facility:
Memorial Regional Medical Center (MRMC) is a distinguished 250+ bed institution recognized nationally for its exceptional stroke treatment. We offer a wide range of healthcare services, including obstetrics, comprehensive cardiac care, a specialized wound care center, and a 24-hour emergency department.

Situated approximately 15 minutes from the city center, our facility is fully accredited by the Joint Commission (TJC) and has received national recognition for clinical excellence in stroke care. We rank among the top 10% of hospitals in the nation for cardiac surgery and overall cardiac care.

Role Summary:
The Respiratory Care Practitioner I is tasked with delivering respiratory care through comprehensive patient assessment, strategic planning, intervention, education, and evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Execute all respiratory care procedures, including oxygen and aerosolized medication delivery, ventilator management, bronchial hygiene therapy, and diagnostic services.
- Monitor patient responses to therapies and recommend modifications based on assessments.
- Serve as a mentor to new team members and students.
- Assess patients' physical conditions through various techniques and review existing medical records.
- Administer treatments as per physician directives, ensuring patients understand the therapy and its objectives.
- Evaluate the appropriateness of prescribed therapies and suggest alternative methods to achieve therapeutic goals.
- Set up and maintain various oxygen therapy modes to ensure adequate oxygenation levels.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding the use of respiratory devices and therapies.
- Participate in procedures such as bronchoscopy and tracheostomy care.
- Collect sputum samples for laboratory analysis and perform arterial blood gas testing.
- Respond to cardiopulmonary emergencies and actively engage in resuscitation efforts.

Qualifications:
- Graduate from an AMA-approved Respiratory Care program (required).
- Current Respiratory Care License in the state of practice (required).
- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credentialed (required).
- Preferred: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Experience and Skills:
- Previous experience in an ambulatory or acute care setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and maintain excellent customer service.
- Proficient in the use of non-invasive respiratory therapy equipment and procedures.
