_ *Compensation Information*_ Base Salary Range:
$75,504.00-$126,126.00 This salary range represents a good faith estimate for this position. This role is eligible for annual incentive pay and offers opportunities for ongoing salary growth. If you join American Water, your base salary will be determined based on factors such as market conditions, geography, skills, education, and/or experience. American Water is also proud to provide employees with learning opportunities and work experiences to foster professional growth. _ *Primary Responsibilities*_ This role is accountable for overseeing (with a team as necessary) all activities related to the execution of several medium to small capital investment projects from initiation to completion, which significantly impact the company's objectives concerning Production, Networks, and/or other water resource or operational systems. _ *Key Responsibilities*_ * Overseeing and managing budgets and timelines for multiple medium to small Capital Investment Projects and programs of moderate scope and complexity. * Enhancing project delivery efficiency through the monitoring of delivery metrics (unit costs, target costs vs. actual, etc.) and seeking more effective delivery and procurement strategies. * Ensuring the delivery of assigned Capital Projects in accordance with the policies and procedures established in the Capital Program Investment Management (CIM) system to meet asset requirements. * Ensuring Asset Owner satisfaction in alignment with the agreed-upon scope of work for each project. Collaborating with Operations personnel to ensure the project delivery program meets operational needs and is coordinated with operations personnel regarding operational impacts related to the project delivery program. * Engaging with the Technical Services function regarding standards and requirements. Ensuring compliance with established regulatory criteria, specifications, and standards. * Coordinating with property groups, technical services, and other internal teams and external governmental agencies to facilitate land acquisition, easements, rights of way, permits, certificates, and other project approvals for assigned projects and programs. _ *Knowledge/Skills*_ * General understanding of Engineering, Project Management, and construction management practices related to planning, design, construction, and operations for water resource management facilities, engineering, utility economics, and contract administration and construction technology. * Familiarity with regulatory developments, new technologies, and current trends in water quality, water treatment, developer services, and other related water resource management disciplines. * Awareness of applicable state and federal regulations. * Knowledge of employee relations, relevant safety and environmental regulations, federal and state water quality and design regulations, and technical standards. * Strong project management abilities (e.g., planning, organizing, directing, monitoring, and reporting on project activities). * Excellent interpersonal skills (tact/diplomacy, persuasion, cooperation, and the ability to motivate others). Capability to effectively interact with colleagues, governmental agencies, consultants, and the public. * Proficient verbal and written communication skills (e.g., presentation, listening, report writing). * Computer literacy. Proficient in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, flow-charting, and project scheduling software. * Financial analysis skills, including budget management and basic accounting knowledge. _ *Experience/Education*_ * A minimum of 4 years of experience in project delivery of significant water resources projects. Consideration will be given to advanced degrees and/or relevant certifications in lieu of the minimum years of experience. * A Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. _ *Work Environment*_ * Primarily office-based with occasional local/overnight fieldwork. * Hybrid work schedule, requiring at least 3 days in the office per week. _ *Certifications & Licenses*_ * Engineer-in-training, Construction Management Certifications, and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications are strongly preferred. _ *Travel Requirements*_ * Occasional travel, primarily day trips with rare overnight stays required; generally, less than 20% of total time is expected away from the office. _ *Competencies*_ Champions safety, Customer-focused, Fosters innovation, Agile learner, Drives results, Collaborates. * Join American Water...We Keep Life Flowing
