Position Overview:
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Compliance Specialist plays a vital role within the Pacific Northwest EHS team, concentrating on the execution of compliance programs, evaluation of operational processes for risk mitigation, and conducting incident investigations along with corrective actions.

This position encompasses approximately 75% health and safety responsibilities and 25% environmental duties.

Key Responsibilities:
As an EHS Compliance Specialist, you will:

  • Design and implement site-specific safe operating procedures, adapt EHS compliance programs, and conduct risk assessments for various equipment, tasks, and work environments.
  • Lead thorough incident investigations to identify root causes, propose corrective actions, and formulate action plans aimed at risk reduction.
  • Facilitate training sessions on essential EHS topics, including but not limited to waste management, wastewater treatment, chemical safety, respirator usage, and fall protection.
  • Perform regular site inspections to identify and rectify environmental, health, and safety issues.
  • Collaborate with the EHS team and business partners to assess complex processes, respond to incidents, and drive operational enhancements to maintain a safe and environmentally compliant workplace.

Travel Requirements:
Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time.

Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, safety, or environmental engineering, occupational safety and health, or a related scientific discipline.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in implementing and enhancing EHS programs and systems within a dynamic environment, such as research or manufacturing.
  • Active involvement in spill response teams and the capability to utilize self-contained breathing apparatus.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will have:

  • Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist.
  • Experience in semi-industry and/or handling high hazard chemicals.

Compensation:
The compensation for this role ranges from $116,000 to $166,000 annually, plus bonuses, equity, and benefits. Individual compensation is determined based on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Please note that the compensation details provided reflect the base salary only and do not include additional bonuses, equity, or sales incentives, if applicable.
