Your Role:

This position presents an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineer in our Cedar Rapids office. You will collaborate with a dynamic team of engineers and specialists dedicated to municipal, transportation, and water resource initiatives. In the early stages of projects, you will engage closely with project managers to devise tailored solutions. Our flexible management style empowers you to shape your professional journey through innovation and ongoing development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: This position demands a commitment to the responsibilities and goals associated with delivering successful projects. You will play a vital role in guiding projects from initial concepts through to construction.
  • Project Involvement: Engage in a variety of projects that differ in complexity and scope. This hands-on role requires active participation in the planning, design, and execution phases of projects.
  • Team Collaboration: Adapt to various roles within medium to large teams of professionals, designers, and planners as necessary.
  • Client Relations: Strive to meet and exceed expectations by fostering positive relationships through proactive communication and a commitment to service.
  • Project Management: Maintain productivity and pace to ensure projects remain within budget.
  • Quality Assurance: Uphold high standards of quality, creativity, and teamwork within your project group.
  • Effective Communication: Interact proficiently with individuals of varying technical expertise through both verbal and written communication.

Qualifications:

  • Essential: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering.
  • Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) designation.
  • Experience: Ideally, five to fifteen years in civil or construction engineering, preferably in a consulting context.
  • Knowledge: Strong grasp of civil engineering principles.
  • Time Management: Effective skills in managing time, particularly concerning project commitments and deliverables.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong team-oriented skills that foster positive relationships.
  • Dependability: Reliable and committed to regular attendance, with the willingness to work additional hours as needed.
  • Communication Skills: Well-developed written and verbal skills to convey technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
