Position Overview

Join Volt as we seek a dedicated Lead Civil Engineering Specialist. This role is pivotal in shaping innovative engineering solutions across various projects.

As a Lead Civil Engineering Specialist, you will engage in a variety of engineering initiatives. Our organization is a rapidly expanding environmental engineering firm in the Midwest, looking for a passionate Civil Engineer who is eager to grow and contribute to projects ranging from municipal to environmental engineering.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members to ensure timely project completion.
  • Evaluate the feasibility and integrity of proposed engineering methodologies.
  • Undertake complex assignments that require the development of new or enhanced techniques.
  • Provide updates and address challenges while offering guidance and support as needed.
  • Facilitate communication among management, team leaders, clients, and vendors.
  • Oversee diverse teams, providing clear instructions and effectively managing performance.
  • Ensure project compliance with industry standards, quality assurance policies, and performance metrics.
  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and lead engineering projects from inception to completion.
  • Collaborate with designers and engineers to project budgets and timelines, ensuring accuracy and adherence to schedules.
  • Conduct quality control assessments throughout all project phases to maintain budget and deadline integrity.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients and engage in business development efforts.
  • Work on intricate projects that necessitate independent research and sound judgment.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with current and prospective clients.
  • Effectively convey complex ideas and technical concepts to colleagues and clients.
  • Engage in non-traditional planning, investigations, and surveys involving complex equipment.
  • Prepare detailed designs, reports, and intricate calculations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you should possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering, along with:

  • A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in the field.
  • Licensure as a professional engineer in your area of expertise.
  • A collaborative spirit, working across departments to achieve organizational goals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Robust analytical and organizational capabilities.
  • A strategic mindset, focused on identifying and implementing improvements.
