Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed design calculations.
  • Utilize CAD for preliminary layouts, modeling, and design tasks.
  • Research and prepare initial reports and feasibility studies, including presentations.
  • Assist in project design, reviewing plans, specifications, cost estimates, and quantity take-offs.
  • Organize and oversee construction observations and project administration.
  • Plan and delegate project assignments while guiding engineers-in-training and technicians.
  • Engage in business development activities, including RFPs and community outreach, while building relationships with regulatory bodies.
  • Support the mentoring and development of technical staff.
  • Enhance skills through ongoing education to meet state licensure requirements.
  • Perform thorough construction observations and maintain project documentation as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related accredited program, with four years of progressive design and complex construction experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced mathematical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Developing supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with CAD and design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil3D, Microstation).
  • Knowledge of specialized design software (e.g., HydroCAD, WaterCAD, StormCAD, SewerCAD, XP-SWMM).
  • Willingness to travel frequently during the construction season, including potential overnight stays.
  • Valid driver's license required for travel to various job sites.
