Job Summary

Mesa County is seeking a skilled Clinician to join our newly created Clinical Team. This role involves performing a variety of clinical duties to support community behavioral health needs, including crisis response, law enforcement co-response, and community service provider collaboration. As a member of our Clinical Team, you will be responsible for providing professional mental health services, system support, and coordination with other agencies.

Essential Job Functions
  • Respond to and manage professional mental health services and system support services.
  • Ensure continuity of care through immediate evaluation, collaboration with agencies, referral to appropriate services, and advocacy for necessary treatment.
  • Participate in public service events, public outreach and education, and response to community events.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records and data collection and documentation.
  • Stay up-to-date with clinical practice guidelines and State of Colorado Office of Behavioral Health and Department of Regulatory Agencies standards.
Requirements
  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or closely related field from an accredited program.
  • Licensed or license eligible in the State of Colorado (LPC, LAC, LCSW, LMFT, PsyD).
  • Three or more years of progressively responsible experience after an advanced degree.
  • Experience working with crisis response, intervention, suicide assessment, and safety planning, hospitalization, and community systems collaboration.
  • Ability to pass a background check, psychological examination, polygraph examination, physical examination, and obtain a security clearance for work with Criminal Justice Records.
Working Environment

This position requires standing, stooping, sitting, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 60 pounds. Occasional exposure to hazardous situations involving physically violent persons, interviewing mentally or emotionally disturbed persons, and exposure to communicable diseases, infections, blood, and bodily fluids.
