About the Role

Auburn University is seeking a highly skilled Administrative Support Specialist to join our Media Relations Department. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional administrative support, with a focus on complex administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate with media representatives and fans to provide information on event details, locations, and schedules.
  • Advise colleagues on processes, procedures, and services, and resolve policy-related or procedural issues.
  • Research and resolve issues, gather information, and prepare reports and correspondence.
  • Manage budgets and coordinate financial activities for a unit or department.
  • Perform specialized technical duties and coordinate processes.
  • Review and verify documentation for completeness and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining data and databases.
  • Perform a variety of clerical duties, including typing, correspondence, filing, recordkeeping, data entry, and other support tasks.
  • May work evenings and weekends to support home athletic events.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 years of experience in administrative support services, or
  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in administrative support services.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of extensive bodies of rules, precedents, and procedures applicable to administrative support work.
