Job Overview:

This role involves providing reservoir engineering expertise and technical assistance to the Energy Investment Banking division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver reservoir engineering insights and technical support for the assessment and valuation of oil and gas properties across the continental United States.
  • Consult with Exploration & Production (E&P) and Midstream clients regarding Energy mergers and acquisitions, asset divestitures, and capital market activities.
  • Conduct economic modeling, including the development of type-curves, forecasting production volumes, and reviewing commercial assumptions.
  • Prepare upstream volume and cash flow projections to support discounted cash flow (DCF) analyses using reserves economic software such as ARIES, PHDWin, and ComboCurve.
  • Assist in execution tasks, including data collection, industry research, and analytical assessments.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in Petroleum Engineering, with a background in E&P operations or reserves consulting; experience in A&D investment banking is preferred.
  • A degree in Engineering is required.
  • Proficiency in the technical evaluation of oil and gas properties across both conventional and unconventional North American plays.
  • Ability to perform technical evaluations, including type-curve generation and cash flow analysis using reserves economic software (ARIES is mandatory, PHDWin is preferred).
  • Experience in preparing and managing virtual data rooms.
  • Familiarity with software tools such as Excel, Spotfire, ArcGIS/QGIS, Microsoft Access, Aries/PHDWin, and ComboCurve.
