Position Summary: We are currently seeking a skilled Petroleum Engineer to join our reservoir engineering and acquisitions & divestitures (A&D) team. This role is pivotal in supporting our operations and enhancing our presence in the regional market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively communicates data requirements to clients, ensuring thorough acquisition of necessary information while maintaining high standards of quality control for engineering evaluations. Assesses the technical precision of input parameters and evaluation outcomes, reviewing results for realistic performance forecasts based on historical data and industry benchmarks.
- Acts as a representative for the team, engaging with client companies through calls, visits, and meetings as required. Coordinates engineering information needs and ensures timely receipt of all relevant data, while also managing relationships with third-party service providers and contractors.
- Demonstrates commitment to project completion and consistently meets deadlines, while maintaining active participation in professional organizations and community initiatives.
- Availability to work extended hours during peak operational periods is essential.
Required Qualifications:
- Comprehensive understanding of oil and gas operational criteria, guidelines, and equipment.
- Fundamental knowledge of valuation methods for both producing and non-producing minerals.
- Proficiency in essential reservoir engineering tasks, including decline curve analysis and hydrocarbon estimation.
- Familiarity with lease operating statements from both financial and operational perspectives.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity for independent thought and action.
- Excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Proficient in ARIES and/or PHDWin software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in acquiring oil and gas data from commercial databases and regulatory bodies.
- Basic understanding of oil and gas land/legal/contracts.
- Knowledge of various reservoir basins across the U.S.
- Familiarity with oil and gas-related geology.
- Experience with ComboCurve, PETRA, and Spotfire/Tableau is advantageous.
Education & Experience:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience as a Petroleum Engineer, particularly in Reservoir Engineering, is preferred.
- Experience in A&D is beneficial but not mandatory.
