Key Responsibilities:
The Medical Office Receptionist serves as the initial point of contact for our patients, physicians, and clinic staff, as well as external laboratory and imaging personnel, hospital staff, family members of patients, and vendors. This role involves delivering exceptional customer service, managing communications, and ensuring the proper routing of phone calls and messages. Responsibilities also include:

  1. Collecting and updating patient demographics and insurance details.
  2. Verifying health plan eligibility.
  3. Taking accurate messages and scheduling appointments using an electronic practice management system.
  4. Performing various clerical tasks as needed to support daily clinic operations and quality patient care initiatives.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:

  1. A minimum of six (6) months of experience in an outpatient environment as a Medical Office Receptionist/Representative is preferred; alternatively, equivalent experience in a high-volume customer service role may be considered.
  2. High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  3. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills are essential.
  4. Proficiency in keyboarding and familiarity with computer systems and software is necessary, along with experience using standard office equipment.
  5. Experience with electronic practice management systems is preferred.
  6. Prior experience with multi-line or ACD phones is advantageous.
  7. Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
  8. AHA CPR certification is required upon hire and must remain current.
