Key Responsibilities:
The Medical Office Receptionist serves as the initial point of contact for our patients, physicians, and clinic staff. This role encompasses a variety of essential functions, including:
- Providing outstanding customer service and effective communication.
- Managing the distribution of phone calls and messages appropriately.
- Collecting and updating patient demographics and insurance details.
- Verifying health plan eligibility.
- Taking accurate messages and scheduling appointments using an electronic practice management system.
- Performing additional clerical tasks as required to support clinic operations and enhance patient care.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Preferred: Six months of experience in an outpatient environment as a Medical Office Receptionist/Representative or equivalent experience in a high-volume customer service role.
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills are essential.
- Proficiency in keyboarding and familiarity with computer systems and standard office equipment is necessary.
- Experience with electronic practice management systems is preferred.
- Experience with multi-line or ACD phones is advantageous.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
- AHA CPR certification is required upon hire and must remain current.
