Key Responsibilities:
The Medical Office Receptionist serves as the initial point of contact for our patients, physicians, and clinic staff. This role encompasses a variety of essential functions, including:

  1. Providing outstanding customer service and effective communication.
  2. Managing the distribution of phone calls and messages appropriately.
  3. Collecting and updating patient demographics and insurance details.
  4. Verifying health plan eligibility.
  5. Taking accurate messages and scheduling appointments using an electronic practice management system.
  6. Performing additional clerical tasks as required to support clinic operations and enhance patient care.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:

  1. Preferred: Six months of experience in an outpatient environment as a Medical Office Receptionist/Representative or equivalent experience in a high-volume customer service role.
  2. High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  3. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills are essential.
  4. Proficiency in keyboarding and familiarity with computer systems and standard office equipment is necessary.
  5. Experience with electronic practice management systems is preferred.
  6. Experience with multi-line or ACD phones is advantageous.
  7. Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
  8. AHA CPR certification is required upon hire and must remain current.
