Position Summary

The Avionics Systems Engineering role is a comprehensive position that requires a multifaceted approach to deliver exceptional products that satisfy both technical and business requirements. This position entails a detailed process of system architecture, development, and enhancement, which includes:

  • Identifying and defining system specifications.
  • Exploring various design alternatives.
  • Conducting thorough design evaluations.
  • Selecting and implementing optimal solutions.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring that the design is effectively integrated and executed from the initial concept through to production and operational phases. The successful candidate will significantly influence methodologies and projects within the organization, enhancing the overall quality and efficiency of our engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead integration efforts across various components to guarantee optimal performance.
  • Manage product and system specifications and their dissemination.
  • Oversee validation and verification processes, including comprehensive system testing.
  • Define requirements for modules, components, and subcontractor teams.
  • Facilitate communication between design teams and execution units.
  • Drive quality and risk assessments within design teams.
  • Maintain oversight of product configurations and their control systems.
  • Develop expertise within the discipline and serve as a resource for best practices.
  • Stay informed on technical advancements and contribute to strategic policy development.
  • Utilize analytical skills to support decision-making processes.
  • Act as a mentor for less experienced colleagues and lead smaller projects.
  • Effectively communicate complex information and foster consensus.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in Systems Engineering.
Desired Characteristics
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and tools like Cameo.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading projects.
  • Proficient in documentation and program execution.
Eligibility Requirements
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is mandatory.
  • This position requires access to technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions.
