Job Summary

Diamond Medical Laboratories is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team. As a Mobile Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients in various locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify Test Requisitions: Compare information with nursing station log and bring discrepancies to the attention of facility personnel.
  • Ensure Safe Transportation: Safely transport yourself and specimens, tracking mileage as instructed by management.
  • Verify Patient Identity: Read patient identification and collaborate with nursing staff to ensure accurate specimen collection.
  • Collect Blood Specimens: Perform venipunctures to obtain blood samples.
  • Maintain Specimen Integrity: Use aseptic technique, follow department procedures, and observe isolation procedures to ensure specimen quality.
  • Track Specimens: Initialize, date, and note times of collection to maintain accurate records.
  • Maintain a Safe Work Environment: Follow standards and procedures, comply with legal regulations, and maintain a healthy work environment.
  • Enter Data into Laboratory Information System: Use computer skills to enter details of sample acquisitions into the Laboratory Information System.
  • Protect the Community: Adhere to professional standards, policies, and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Enhance Laboratory Reputation: Accept ownership and take responsibility for your work to enhance the laboratory's reputation.
Requirements:
  • Phlebotomy Skills: Analyze information, maintain infection control, and demonstrate a bedside manner.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
  • Lab Environment: Work effectively in a laboratory setting, adhering to procedures and protocols.
  • Procedural Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in procedural skills, including venipunctures and specimen collection.
  • Computer Skills: Use computer skills to enter data into the Laboratory Information System.
  • Careful Driving Skills: Safely transport yourself and specimens, adhering to company policies and procedures.
