The Allergy Services Specialist will undertake both nursing and administrative responsibilities to guarantee that patients receive exceptional care during their visits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Address patient inquiries regarding allergy serum and dosage protocols.
  • Provide training for medical assistants on proper injection preparation and administration of allergy injections, including site reaction assessments and documentation.
  • Generate order forms for the Allergist as necessary by creating triage entries in the EMR system.
  • Review and respond to messages in the EHR on a daily basis.
  • Manage orders and maintain inventory of skin test extracts, serum extracts/venoms, patient serum, and biologic samples.
  • Assist patients in accessing third-party partners for biologic medication support.
  • Prepare allergy serums weekly when the Allergist is present.
  • Keep a patient log of pending and completed serums, ensuring monthly reviews of supplies for expiration.
  • Administer subcutaneous injections in line with best practices and organizational policies.
  • Adhere to OSHA standards and regulations.
  • Perform Opening/Closing QA and float duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Active and in good standing LPN or RN license with the Maryland Board of Nursing, along with phlebotomy skills.
  • Exceptional communication, active listening, time management, attention to detail, organizational, and multitasking abilities are essential.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in an allergy medical office setting is preferred.
