Quality Inspector Opportunity

This is a vital role in ensuring the quality and compliance of products or components. The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting, testing, and evaluating products against established quality standards to identify defects or deviations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and Test Products: Conduct thorough visual inspections and measurements of products, materials, or components using various tools and instruments. Ensure that products meet defined quality specifications and standards.
  • Document and Communicate Results: Perform and document First-Article, In-process, and Final Inspections, communicate required adjustments to production personnel, and release finished product for delivery.
  • Identify and Document Defects: Identify and document any defects, deviations, or non-conformities in products or materials. Categorize defects according to severity and take appropriate actions, such as marking, tagging, or quarantining items.
  • Maintain Quality Records: Maintain detailed records of inspection and testing activities, including test reports, inspection logs, and non-conformance reports. Ensure that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Collaborate with Production Teams: Collaborate with production teams to provide real-time feedback on quality issues and work together to address and resolve quality concerns promptly.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement Initiatives: Participate in quality improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements, efficiency improvements, or changes to prevent recurring quality issues.
  • Ensure Equipment Calibration: Ensure that inspection equipment and tools are properly calibrated and maintained. Report any equipment malfunctions or calibration deviations.
  • Communicate with Suppliers: Communicate quality concerns with suppliers, if necessary, and assist in the resolution of supplier-related quality issues.
  • Generate Quality Reports: Generate regular quality reports and communicate quality metrics to management. Provide updates on the status of quality-related activities and any corrective actions taken.

Requirements:

  • Education: Engineering or related degree, technical, or vocational training in quality assurance will be considered as well.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in quality inspection or a related field.
  • Skills: Proficiency in using measurement tools, gauges, and equipment. Working knowledge of GD&T and welding symbols. Experience preparing First Article Inspections and Non-conformance Reports.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant industry standards and quality management systems.
  • Personal Qualities: Attention to detail and a strong commitment to maintaining high-quality standards. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
