Coordinator of Intercultural Programs

The Program Coordinator for Intercultural Initiatives is a vital member of the Student Affairs team at Merrimack College, dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive campus environment. This role involves overseeing training programs, managing Unity House operations, and collaborating with various campus partners to enhance student engagement and retention.
Key Responsibilities- Supervision: Lead and mentor Unity House coordinators and student staff, ensuring effective daily operations and program coordination.
- Diversity Training: Facilitate comprehensive training sessions focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion for both undergraduate and graduate students.
- Programming Development: Create and manage a diverse programming calendar that addresses the needs of the Merrimack community, including support for on-campus and off-campus events.
- Event Coordination: Organize campus-wide events aimed at promoting intercultural awareness and engagement among students.
- Unity House Management: Act as the primary contact for Unity House, overseeing space reservations and maintenance.
- Collaboration: Work alongside campus partners to develop initiatives that support student retention and engagement.
- Representation: Serve as a liaison for Intercultural Initiatives, collaborating with various campus offices to enhance programming efforts.
- Assessment: Conduct evaluations of all Intercultural Initiatives and Unity House programs to ensure effectiveness and continuous improvement.
- Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Associate Dean of Student Affairs.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Higher Education Administration or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in higher education settings.
- Proven commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Exceptional customer service skills, both in-person and written.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a calm and professional manner.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
