Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and assist students in their daily routines, ensuring a smooth transition across classroom activities and settings.
  • Collect and analyze data to track behavioral and academic progress, informing instruction and interventions.
  • Implement behavioral interventions as designated by the classroom teacher, promoting positive student outcomes.
  • Participate in staff meetings to discuss curricular expectations and student needs, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Lead and facilitate teaching in 1:1, small group, or whole class settings, adapting instruction to meet individual student needs.
  • Support students in developing self-help skills, including safety, eating, and toileting, promoting independence and confidence.
  • Prepare the instructional environment daily, ensuring a conducive learning space.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with students, families, and colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of college or equivalent experience working with children.
  • Preferred knowledge and experience working with students with Intellectual Disabilities/Complex Learning Needs.
