Social Skills Coach Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Skills Coach to join our team at College Internship Program Inc. As a Social Skills Coach, you will play a vital role in fostering inspiration, confidence, and supporting students in building valuable and meaningful relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Instruct and support students in developing and practicing effective social communication skills, including aspects of social awareness, behavior, and confidence.
  • Implement and lead program areas of Reframing, PEERS, and Social Mentoring, ensuring students receive comprehensive support.
  • Accompany students to local venues, college clubs, community activities, and places of interest to practice social skills in real-life settings.
  • Assess student social skills strengths and challenges, and assist in goal setting to ensure students receive tailored support.
  • Produce and communicate individual social thinking session notes, monthly group notes, and progress reports to the Social Skills Coordinator.
  • Collaborate with the life skills team to plan and supervise weekend activities, ensuring all students have opportunities to practice social skills.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree (or in pursuit of) from an accredited institution in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field is required. Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • 1+ years related experience or training is required.
  • Education or training in educational approaches, methods, and support for persons with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other learning differences is highly preferred.
  • Experience in the field of autism and/or learning disabilities is highly preferred.
  • An Active Driver's License is required.
