Social Skills Coach Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Skills Coach to join our team at College Internship Program Inc. As a Social Skills Coach, you will play a vital role in fostering inspiration, confidence, and supporting students in building valuable and meaningful relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Instruct and support students in developing and practicing effective social communication skills, including aspects of social awareness, behavior, and confidence.
  • Implement and facilitate social skills curriculum through individual sessions and group activities, including Reframing, PEERS, and Social Mentoring.
  • Accompany students to local venues, college clubs, community activities, and places of interest to practice social skills in real-life settings.
  • Assess student social skills strengths and challenges, and assist in goal setting and progress tracking.
  • Communicate individual social thinking session notes, monthly group notes, and progress reports to the Social Skills Coordinator.
  • Collaborate with the life skills team to plan and supervise weekend activities that promote social skills development.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree (or in pursuit of) from an accredited institution in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of related experience or training, with a focus on autism and learning disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, families, and staff.
  • Active Driver's License required.
