Position Overview

The Department is currently seeking applications for seasonal bilingual (English-Chinese) positions within the Voter Outreach unit, aimed at enhancing community engagement.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to public service, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and be adept at communicating with diverse populations, including marginalized communities. Responsibilities include presenting information clearly in both Chinese and English and drafting professional correspondence. Experience in community outreach and familiarity with local neighborhoods, along with proficiency in standard office software, is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and deliver presentations at community gatherings.
  • Coordinate events and manage logistics while providing electoral information at outreach tables.
  • Enhance relationships with existing community partners.
  • Identify and engage new organizations and media outlets serving diverse communities.
  • Analyze and present outreach data effectively through reports and visual aids.
  • Provide courteous and professional electoral information in both languages to the public via various communication channels.
  • Support Election Day operations as needed, including assisting in phone banks.
  • Contribute to the Ballot Delivery Program as required.
  • Perform general clerical duties and assist with additional tasks as necessary.

These roles require a valid driver's license and the ability to transport outreach materials. Candidates must be proficient in both English and Chinese and capable of lifting outreach supplies weighing up to 40 pounds.

Work Schedule

These are temporary positions with specific start and end dates determined by operational needs. While most work will occur during standard business hours, candidates must be flexible to work additional hours, including weekends, as required.

Compensation

The salary range for these positions is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess at least one year of clerical experience, which includes managing records, public interaction, and office equipment usage. Relevant training or educational qualifications may substitute for part of the required experience.
