Key Responsibilities of the Hotel Sales and Marketing Director:
  • Possess a thorough understanding of market dynamics, occupancy rates, average daily rates, banquet and food and beverage revenues, overall gross operating profit, pricing strategies, sales tactics, yield management, booking patterns, and future hotel planning.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of competitive landscapes beyond the immediate area.
  • Understand the strengths and limitations of the hotel and its departments that could influence sales strategies.
  • Execute sales policies and procedures as outlined in the annual marketing strategy.
  • Conduct personal sales outreach.
  • Innovate and implement creative marketing strategies.
  • Build and sustain relationships with local business organizations and tourism boards.
  • Meet and surpass individual and team sales targets as defined in the annual marketing strategy.
  • Understand the role of room merchandising in relation to overall revenue and regularly assess and refine the parameters of the program.
  • Achieve targeted revenue and expense goals while maximizing profitability within the sales department.
  • Contribute to the formulation of the annual hotel budget.
  • Ensure proper procedures for credit control, financial transactions, and safeguarding financial assets are maintained.
Essential Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a hotel sales director.
  • Previous experience as a Sales and Marketing Director is required.
  • Willingness to reside at the hotel for a duration of 6 months as part of the travel task force.
