Job Overview

Gardner-Watson Decking is seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to manage essential accounting functions, including month-end reporting, ledger upkeep, and reconciliation. This role will also involve supporting financial forecasting and budget analysis.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct month-end reporting, maintain the general ledger, and perform bank reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation and consolidation of financial statements.
  • Support the processes for month-end and year-end closures.
  • Participate in external audit preparations.
  • Execute monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Analyze inventory cycle counts and monthly physical counts.
  • Work closely with the CFO and other key stakeholders to ensure timely month-end financial closes and the distribution of financial reporting packages.
  • Engage in special projects and provide analytical support as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA certification or progress towards it is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP principles.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online is advantageous.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
