About the Role

MidWestOne Bank is seeking a highly skilled BSA Due Diligence Analyst to support the bank's Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Customer Due Diligence processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Enhanced Due Diligence reviews of high-risk customers, analyzing transactional and demographic information, and conducting investigations for potential suspicious activity.
  • Validate and document high-risk ratings assigned to customers, as well as any mitigating factors to maintain an appropriate review cadence.
  • Initiate and manage customer outreach to obtain relevant information and documentation to facilitate ongoing reviews.
  • Maintain organized and accurate recordkeeping of EDD reviews and conclusions.
  • Assist the BSA Administrative Officer in maintaining, updating, and revising relevant policies and procedures to comply with regulatory changes and expectations.
  • Identify and escalate unusual or suspicious behaviors across bank business and product lines.
  • Remain current on BSA/AML related issues and regulatory requirements.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of post high school education and related work experience.
  • 5 years of relevant BSA/AML analysis, fraud, compliance related experience with an emphasis on Enhanced Due Diligence.
  • Strong knowledge of BSA regulations and policy requirements.
  • CAMS certification preferred.
  • Experience and expertise regarding the Verafin monitoring application preferred.
  • In depth analytical thinking and the ability to grasp complex processes quickly and identify risk and compensating controls.
