Commercial Real Estate Underwriting Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Real Estate Underwriting Analyst to join our Agency/GSE underwriting team at Colliers. As an Underwriting Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting our senior underwriting team in the analysis and evaluation of prospective multifamily loans.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-Underwriting Analysis: Assist the Agency underwriting team in completing the prospective loan narrative and updating financial models with rent rolls, budgets, operating statements, and third-party report conclusions.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with the underwriting, production, and closing teams to determine deal timelines and identify challenges to prospective loans.
- Credit Review: Support the underwriting team in the credit review of prospective loans.
- Property Inspections: Perform in-person property/site inspections and complete lease audits verifying property operations.
- Due Diligence: Maintain due diligence checklists.
- Market Research: Conduct market research to evaluate comparable properties and local market trends, utilizing tools such as Moody's REIS and third-party appraisal reports.
- Loan Evaluation: Evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, and mitigants of prospective loans, while developing and maintaining a strong understanding of the Fannie Mae DUS Program guidelines.
- Trend Analysis: Recognizing and analyzing industry trends, including current economic conditions, interest rate environment, and demographic trends.
- Loan Committee Packages: Coordinate and compile Loan Committee packages.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or related field required.
- Experience: Foundational understanding of Commercial Real Estate financing gained through successful completion of Real Estate focused coursework, internships, extracurricular activities, or professional experience preferred.
- Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills required, advanced financial and data manipulation functions in Microsoft Excel preferred. Ability to review and analyze complex financial documents.
