Role: Systems Engineer - Gateway HALO FCS

Astrion, a leader in providing innovative solutions across various sectors including Cyber, Digital, and Space, is seeking a dedicated Systems Engineer to support our Space Division under the JETS II Contract.
Key Information:

Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution with 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in developing space systems requirements documents, including functional specifications and verification criteria.
- Hands-on experience in the design, assembly, testing, and operation of space systems, particularly in habitation.
- Familiarity with standard concepts and practices in the space hardware domain, including mechanical and electrical design, engineering documentation, and software tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective presentation in meetings.
- Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and evaluate project requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Johnson Space Center (JSC) operations and procedures.
- Experience with spacecraft habitation systems.
- Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
- Understanding of Systems Engineering methodologies and practices.
Responsibilities:
The Systems Engineer will focus on the development of habitation systems and hardware for the Gateway vehicle and the Habitation and Logistics Outpost (HALO) module. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting and presenting architecture trade studies and analyses that impact overall design and performance.
- Decomposing requirements and developing specifications for Level 3 (Habitation and Logistics module).
- Creating verification and validation plans and documentation.
- Developing interface control documents.
- Reviewing and providing feedback on program documentation.
- Supporting assessments on crew equipment such as stowage solutions and inventory management.
- Presenting findings to program management and engineering teams.
- Collaborating with other Gateway system management teams, including power and life support.
- Coordinating with other programs such as Orion and the Human Lander System.
- Participating in a team environment and reporting progress to the team lead.
- Assisting with various Advanced Exploration System (AES) Logistics Reduction projects.
