About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Instructional Designer to join our Learning & Development team at Burlington Stores, Inc. In this role, you will play a key part in our talent strategy of attracting, developing, and retaining top talent.

Your experience in corporate learning will include designing, developing, and delivering high-impact programs that drive business growth and success.

A Day in the Life

As an Instructional Designer, you will:

  • Maintain partnerships with stakeholders and subject matter experts to gain insight, identify needs, and recommend/design the best learning solutions for content and learning audiences.
  • Lead learning design projects through the design lifecycle from project scoping, research and analysis, design, development, and implementation.
  • Recommend the appropriate learning delivery method/s to achieve the desired business outcome (instructor-led, leader-led, e-learning, reference materials, webinar, etc.).
  • Develop audio, visual, and interactive media aids to support desired business objectives and outcomes.
  • Partner with application facilitators/coaches for continuous improvement of existing learning content and development of new learning content.
  • Review existing content for continued relevance and ongoing updates.
  • Provide exemplary internal customer service with professionalism and ownership of learning deliverables.
  • Demonstrate commitment to teamwork through relationship building and effective collaboration.
  • Facilitate in-person and/or virtual instructor-led events as required.
What You'll Bring

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3-5 years demonstrated experience designing learning including classroom, e-learning, and related course materials.
  • An understanding of adult learning theory and training design models as it applies to corporate learning.
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize, manage, and deliver multiple overlapping projects in a fast-paced, often changing environment.
  • Proficiency working in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Canva, and e-learning authoring tools, including Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise), Camtasia, Vyond, and Adobe Creative Cloud software.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems, Workday Learning experience a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Degree focus in Instructional Design, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Education-related field preferred.
  • Retail, hospitality, quick service, or other equivalent industry experience a plus.
