Job Description

Burlington-Edison Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified and dedicated individual to fill the role of Instructional Assistant. This position plays a vital role in supporting the educational process and ensuring the success of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in the classroom, providing support with lesson planning, instruction, and student supervision.
  • Help students with academic and personal needs, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with classroom management, maintaining a safe and organized learning space.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents, providing updates and feedback as needed.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, staying up-to-date on best practices and educational trends.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience working with students, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, working approximately 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work a varied schedule, including mornings, afternoons, and occasional evenings.
